Hurricane Rita Relief Update
In response to Hurricane Rita, Ecolab has reached out to all associates in the affected areas to make sure that they are safe and their needs are met. We will continue to monitor the situation as Ecolab assists our customers and associates in their cleanup efforts.
Hurricane Katrina Relief Update
As we recover from the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina, Ecolab is relieved to report that all our associates have been located and are safe. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this storm and its aftermath.
Through employee contributions, grants and product donations, Ecolab is committed to helping those in need. In the wake of this terrible disaster, Ecolab has:
- Implemented a special matching gift program among our associates. Ecolab has surpassed $100,000 in employee contributions, which has been matched by the Ecolab Foundation, resulting in more than $210,000 to the American Red Cross for disaster relief.
- Worked with the American Red Cross and World Emergency Relief to distribute products in the devastated areas. To date, Ecolab has donated over 100,000 lbs of waterless hand sanitizers and other sanitizing products (four truckloads) - valued at more than $1,000,000 - to assist in cleanup efforts and disease prevention.
- Established local call-in numbers for customers and field associates to contact Customer Service, as the 800 numbers have been unreliable in certain areas. For cleaning and sanitation, call 651-293-4499. For kitchen equipment repair, call 317-545-9655.
- Assisted affected associates through the Ida C. Koran Trust, a trust fund designated for making loans and grants to Ecolab employees who have suffered financial difficulties due to unusual problems. The Trust has provided 107 associates with grants totaling $196,000.
Our associates in the affected region are engaged in volunteer activities, working to support local relief agencies as well as other Ecolab employees.
Ecolab's recovery efforts will be ongoing as we assess the needs of our services. We are committed to supporting our Ecolab family, our customers and our communities throughout this tragedy.
