Peroxyacetic acid-based antimicrobial food surface treatments
Sanova
In-line antimicrobial food surface treatments for red meat, poultry, seafood and ready-to-eat meats. These treatments are not for use to sanitize hard food contact surfaces, or to treat microbial count in process water, or food packaging.

The Sanova® program, as an in-line, antimicrobial food surface treatment, has been proven effective in helping to control foodborne pathogens on the food surfaces listed below. Because it can be used at multiple intervention points, it helps break the contamination cycle without interrupting plant operations. It also significantly reduces the number of spoilage microorganisms on food surfaces to help enhance shelf-life. And, since Sanova is classified by the USDA as a processing aid, no additive labeling is required for processors. Sanova is not intended for use as a hard surface food contact sanitizer.

Among the many applications of the SANOVA program:

Industry   Effective Against

Red Meat:
Carcasses, parts and trim, organs, primal and sub-primal cuts
E.coli O157:H7

Poultry:
Carcasses, parts and trim
Salmonella Typhimurium, Listeria monocytogenes, E.coli O157:H7, and Campylobacter

Seafood and Fisheries:
Finfish and crustaceans
Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella spp. and vibrio parahaemolyticus

Ready-to-Eat Meat:
Deli meats, frankfurters, cooked sausages and other cooked meat products
Listeria monocytogenes

Octa-Gone

Octa-Gone is an octanoic acid-based antimicrobial treatment that reduces microbial contamination on ready-to-eat (RTE) meat and poultry products. Octa-Gone is recommended for use as part of a Listeria monocytogenes control program in the production of RTE meat and poultry products. Octa-Gone use solution is applied directly into the final RTE package prior to vacuum sealing, eliminating post-treatment recontamination.
