As an official hygiene supplier for the 2013 Universiade Games, Ecolab helped ensure that the multi-sport event was clean, safe and healthy by providing food safety, cleaning and sanitation products and equipment as well as training and on-site service to local partners.

“Our on-site sales-and-service team worked tirelessly to promote immaculate foodservice facilities, guest rooms and competition sites,” said Vaclav Harant, Ecolab vice president and general manager, Russia and CIS. “Keeping the sporting venues and the student village and dining facility clean and healthy for more than 100,000 student athletes, spectators and volunteers was their number-one priority.”

Ecolab’s products and services supported the cleanliness of 50 sporting venues and safety of more than 600,000 meals served at the athlete dining facility during the 12 days of competition. In addition, Ecolab hand hygiene products were used throughout the Games. The President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, publicly commended Ecolab for the company’s active role in contributing to the success of the Games.

The Universiade is the only summer multi-sport event in the world where students from around the globe compete together. This international sporting and cultural festival is staged every two years in a different city.

“We are proud to have supported the spirit and sportsmanship exhibited at the 2013 Games among the future leaders of our world,” added Harant.
