Apply for a Grant

To qualify for a community grant from the Ecolab Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 organization must fall within one of our four strategic areas and deliver services in the St. Paul, MN area where our corporate office is located, or in one of the regional communities where we have operations listed below:

Ecolab Foundation Community Grants Strategic Giving Areas:

  • Youth & Education:  Fund programs to promote youth development, particularly youth at-risk
  • Civic & Community Development:  Poverty, affordable housing, work readiness, crisis assistance and hunger relief
  • Environment & Conservation:  Support hands-on environmental learning programs
  • Arts & Culture:  Arts education for children and youth

Restrictions:

Contributions will not be made to or in support of:

  • Individuals
  • Sectarian/denominational religious organizations, except where funds are to be used in direct interest of the entire community
  • Loans or investments
  • Political/lobbying organizations
  • Industry, trade or professional association memberships
  • Disease-specific or health related organizations
  • Sports/athletic programs and facilities
  • Fundraising events/sponsorship

How to apply:

For the St. Paul, MN area, applications are submitted online and are due by 11:59 pm December 1 of each year to be considered for funding for the following calendar year (if December 1 falls on a weekend or national US holiday, applications will be due by 11:59 pm the following business day).

Saint Paul Area: Return to Application.

For Ecolab Regional Communities, you must provide services in the geographical area of our regional facility (listed above).  Application deadlines vary by region and generally open in August of each year with final submissions due by September or October.  Regions set their own deadlines for fall application due dates. 

Applications for 2014 funding are closed at this time.  Application deadlines for the following communities for 2015 funding will be set in early summer 2014. Please check back at that time.

Please note:  These guidelines do NOT apply for the Visions for Learning teacher grant program. That program is administered in the spring of each year. At that time, further application information will be posted.
