FAQs
C. diff spores are highly resilient and can survive on dry, hard surfaces for more than 5 months. Because of this long survival rate, routine daily cleaning with a sporicide is required to disrupt the chain of transmission.
OxyCide has a wet contact time of five minutes. It is EPA-registered to kill C. diff, C. auris, and more than 30 other pathogens in five minutes or less.
A correctly dispensed OxyCide solution will exhibit three distinct signs:
- It is cloudy.
- It is fizzy.
- It smells like vinegar.
If the solution lacks any of these three signs, do not use it, and notify your supervisor immediately.
OxyCide is formulated with a combination of Hydrogen Peroxide (which destroys inner components like DNA and proteins), Peroxyacetic Acid (which breaks down outer membranes), and Acetic Acid (the main component of vinegar).
