Nalco, an Ecolab company, has been awarded a patent for its APEX™ paint detackification technology, an effective and sustainable detack chemistry made from renewable resources. It represents a significant step forward in high-performing, sustainable solutions for the automotive industry.
Nalco researchers utilized natural, non-VOC materials to achieve the industry’s desire for effective and sustainable paint detackification for auto assembly and auto fascia wet spray booths. APEX delivers excellent system performance and operational efficiency while reducing water use, waste and overall cost of operations.
“This patent further highlights Nalco’s commitment to the auto industry,” said Eric Ouderkirk, director of Marketing for Nalco’s Global Manufacturing business. “We are dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that help automakers meet their performance, operational and sustainability goals.”
Currently used in more than 100 auto assembly plants worldwide, APEX detackification chemistry is one component of Nalco’s total paint booth solution, which includes world-class service and other innovative chemistries, such as Ultimer™ flocculant technology that was awarded the U.S. Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award. Using APEX technology, assembly plants can expect superior results and reductions in water, waste and chemical use.
