Ecolab Supports Association for the Healthcare Environment's Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician Program

On April 16, 2018, the Association for the Healthcare Environment (AHE) of the American Hospital Association announced a strategic alliance with Ecolab for AHE's launch of the Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician Program (CSCT).
The development of AHE’s CSCT was in response to demand from facilities for consistent training and education for cleaning technicians responsible for surgical suites and other high risk procedure areas. Surgical cleaning technicians play an essential role in reducing or mitigating the potential for pathogenic transmission. This program is designed to positively affect surgical and procedural outcomes by providing the requisite training for cleaning technicians to help minimize the potential for the spread of pathogenic organisms.
“The development of CSCT is a direct response to a demand in the field to train to a consistent standard of care,” AHE Executive Director Patti Costello notes. “Ecolab is a natural choice for collaboration because as a company, they are a thought leader, a supporter of the advancement of the profession and a driver of overall quality outcomes.”
As a corporate champion of AHE, the importance of the CSCT Program has resonated with Ecolab, the global leader in delivering cleaner, safer healthcare environments for patients and healthcare providers. “Ecolab’s collaborative solutions-driven approach helps increase efficiencies, improve patient outcomes and reduce the risk of HAIs for healthcare organizations,” noted Ecolab Senior Marketing Manager Beth Hohl. “These objectives echo the goals of AHE, which is recognized as the authority in caring for the healthcare environment. Together, this partnership will undoubtedly lead to an impactful strategic alliance for the betterment of the healthcare environment as a whole.”
