Ecolab Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources, ranks 26th on Barron’s second annual listing of the 100 Most Sustainable Companies in the U.S., up three spots from the company’s 29th position in 2018.
Sustainability is core to Ecolab’s purpose to make the world cleaner, safer and healthier. The company’s solutions help customers achieve ambitious business and environmental goals, and Ecolab is committed to improving its own environmental footprint.
To determine the 100 most sustainable companies, Barron’s, in
partnership with Calvert Research and Management, analyzed the 1,000 largest
publicly held U.S. companies and scored them on more than 200 key indicators
and 28 issues. Calvert then sorted the data into five key categories:
shareholders, employees, customers, planet and community. Companies with the
