ECOLAB APPOINTS CHAFIK HILAL AS VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER FOR THE MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA

Ecolab, the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services, has appointed Chafik Hilal as its vice president and general manager for the Middle East and Africa (MEA). In his new role, Hilal will steer the company’s operations and continued development within the region. Hilal succeeds Arjan Boogards.

Hilal joined Ecolab in 2018, leading Ecolab’s Nalco Water division in MEA. Prior to joining Ecolab, Hilal built up two decades of experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry as vice president of Sales and Marketing at Open Airlines in France and the managing director for Middle East, Turkey and Africa for Rockwell Collins.

Commenting on his appointment, Hilal said, “In my new role, I hope to bring in-depth regional and international experience, providing value to our customers and the communities we serve.”

Hilal holds an MBA from the Henry B. Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Of Moroccan descent, Hilal is tri-lingual (English, Arabic and French) and has worked across MEA, France and the United States.
