106RM is a flowability aid designed to help prevent premature settling of coarse material during slurry transportation. At low dosages (10-20g/t), 106RM prevents the formation of large, dense flocs and instead forms a suspended layer of fine particles to help support coarse material.
106RM neutralizes the negative charge on solid fine particles, forming a weak particle network that introduces yield stress without significantly increasing viscosity. This small yield stress is sufficient to support coarse particles against gravity, allowing them to not move unless the gravitational force far exceeds the structural strength of the fines suspension.
